Permanent Exhibition: Questo è il nostro Spazio

With "Questo è il Nostro Spazio" the Collective, after having wandered with the traveling exhibition Arcaico e Presente, finds a permanent home, thanks to the foresight and love for the art of Gloria and Massimo Quarta owners of the hotel, that from the beginning, in 2018 they believed in the project, hosting the meetings of artists and the first exhibition.
Throughout the year, besides the exhibition, which includes a monthly rotation of the works of the artists of the Collective, the Q'ART space of the Oxford Hotel, will be animated by meetings open to the public with cultural operators and art critics.
The aim is to give way to each artist to highlight their research through presentations, workshops, performances, screenings and seminars. A real cultural salon that is a space of free exchange between artists and users.
The title "QUESTO E’ IL NOSTRO SPAZIO" can be deceiving, as it is not only about the fact of having found a permanent home, but in reality it is an assertion in the form of performance created by Umberto Pozzi during our visit to the Macro museum in Rome (at the time called Asylum) on June 5, 2019, which was also attended by the artist Tiziana Rasile, with a tone not so veiled controversy with the management of the Roman museum areas, filmed and networked live streaming on facebook.
The same performance was then repeated collectively, in Rome at the museum of Palazzo Merulana, on the occasion of the presentation of the manifesto "Archaic and Present the New Roman Spatialism", which states: "where there is the artist there is art" "the space of art resides in the only real place to visit through his works : the Body of the Artist/ This is Our Space". This is a research that takes up our first manifesto presented at Palazzo Merulane for a "New Human Feeling".

Presentation of the Oxford Collective
The Oxford Collective was formed in January 2018, to combine the interest in artistic, scientific and philosophical dissemination, starting from common roots. It comes from the meetings and symposia held at the Hotel Oxford in Via Boncompagni 89 in Rome.
From these meetings was born a real artistic movement that is promoted through a traveling exhibition, national and international, entitled "ARCAICO E PRESENTE", whose reading figure was recognized by the master Gianpaolo Berto ( which was part of the spatialism of Lucio Fontana) and the founder Mauro Silani, as "IL NUOVO SPAZIALISMO ROMANO".
This name was signed in a draft manifesto by all the artists who are part of the "Oxford Collective".
"We consider art and sociality as the prerequisites for the regeneration of the social and cultural fabric of cities - explains Mauro Silani, creator of the project and curator of the exhibition- this itinerant project means making an effective contribution to the process of reconstruction of social relations through art and research, for two reasons: First of all, our collective is a real laboratory open to the contribution of local artists, national and international, In addition, at each exhibition we ensure the participation of schools, institutions and cultural associations with the ultimate goal of opening operational offices throughout the country and also abroad".
It includes painters, sculptors, writers, philosophers, writers, poets, academics, scientists, photographers, actors, video-artists, architects, graphic designers and master craftsmen and the operators of the Fab Lab.

“Il Nuovo Spazialismo Romano”
Multidisciplinarity and research are the main characteristics of this Collective, which starts from the analysis of the "Manifesto Blanco" by Lucio Fontana in 1946, without any expressive prevarication with respect to the methods that each artist undertakes, in the forms of action that it deems appropriate, with all the means that science and technology make available today, however, focusing on the expressive and unique perception of each artist as a Human Being and not as the facilitator of a product that becomes consumable and spendable in a determined and deterministic historical arc.
Art, like the sum of all the dichotomies that are annulled, not in sterile contrasts, but through the right osmotic tension, between artists, works and users, allows the right harmony between message, content and container.
In light of the new discoveries of physics, in particular the so-called "particle of God" (the Higgs boson), and gravitational waves, with which Barry Berish, Rainer Weiss and Kip Thorne, won the Nobel Prize in 2018, We must open our eyes and take upon ourselves the consequence of this truth that will change the perspective of man, when it is revealed to us by science, that time is not a measure but a force, which in some points of space corresponds to gravity.
Man, is at the door of an abyss of new knowledge, which mediatically engage all sectors of knowledge and where and from our point of view, art, must play a major role, both in the research phase, and in dissemination.
To this end, at each exhibition, we will open debates and workshops on science, art and conscience.
The Collective is a real artistic movement and research laboratory. Mauro SILANI, Founder and curator of the "Oxford Collective".
